The Hunger Awareness Campaign
**Ends March 20, 2018**
There’s a hunger epidemic here in the U.S., and a few keystrokes can help us raise awareness.
And as a “thank you” for helping us get the word out about American children, veterans, and seniors experiencing hunger and food insecurity, we’ll throw your name into a raffle for a chance to win one of several awesome prizes (descriptions below)!
Why you should participate
You know the phrase “Knowledge is power.” How about G.I. Joe’s, “Now we know, and knowing is half the battle?” Or maybe you’ve seen one of NBCUniversal’s “The More You Know” PSAs on raising awareness about the importance of education, diversity, healthy living, and protecting the environment?
Call it what you want—knowledge, market research, data, soundbites, info—the consensus is: the best way to take on a challenge is to educate yourself and your community. And that’s what this Hunger Awareness Campaign for MAZON.org is all about—solving the problem of hunger through education.
Too many of us think hunger, and food insecurity, are problems that only impact our domestic homeless population, and people living in 3rd world countries.
But that’s NOT the case. Hunger is a serious problem right here at home, and we need your help spreading the word. Because let’s be honest, there’s too much wealth, excess and waste in our country for hunger to be an issue in America today.
The fact that those of us not suffering from hunger don’t realize it’s still a serious issue facing children, seniors, veterans and rural communities is the main reason it’s still a problem in America today.
So here’s what we’re going to do about it!
- Share any Bay Seasoning Podcast Facebook page post that has a statistic about hunger on your own Facebook page before 11:59 PM (PST), March 20, 2018. Here are direct links to the posts.
- Visit The Reality of Hunger tab on MAZON.org’s website before 11:59 PM (PST) on March 20, 2018.
- Pick any of their published statistics about hunger. Whichever one resonates with you most.
- Share that statistic on your personal Facebook page and tag Mazon (@mazonusa) and the Bay Seasoning Podcast (@bayseasoning) in the post.**
- And that’s it!
By tagging both MAZON.org and the Bay Seasoning Podcast we’ll be able to include you in the drawing.
But wait! There’s more!
Increase your chances of winning a prize by sharing more. Every day you share a statistic about hunger (per the steps above), we’ll enter your name in the drawing again!!!!
**Individual Facebook settings may impact your ability to tag a page. In some cases, you may need to first “like” both MAZON and Bay Seasoning’s pages, before you can tag them. If you’re having difficulty, try composing your post, and type @MAZON and @Bay Seasoning (with the space between bay and seasoning) and select the pages from the dropdown. This is the best way to ensure your tag is hyperlinked, which is the only way for us to know to include you in the drawing.

The Bay Seasoning Podcast “Hunger Awareness Campaign for MAZON.org” begins on 12:01 AM PST 3/4/2018 and runs to 11:59 PM PST 3/20/2018. No purchase necessary to participate in this lottery. Participants can have their name added to the drawing once per day during the duration of the campaign. No additional entries will be given for more than one post per day. One prize per participant. If a participant’s name is drawn a second time, the prize will go to the next name on the list. An alternative method to participating is to email your first name, last name, phone number, and shipping address to firstname.lastname@example.org with the words “MAZON Hunger Awareness Entry” in the subject line. Participants who win a gift containing wine must live in a state where the shipment of wine direct to consumers is permitted from a licensed winery in CA. Residents of the following states can NOT win a prize containing wine: Utah, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Alabama, Kentucky, Ohio, Delaware and Rhode Island. If a name is drawn for a prize containing wine, and the winner resides in one of the previously mentioned states, there name will be entered back into the pool, and they will be eligible for the next prize. All prizes containing wine will be shipped through a licensed third party, and will require the signature of an adult age 21 or older. Primary promoter and sponsors for this campaign is the Bay Seasoning Podcast, 1288 McAllister Street, #202, San Francisco, CA 94115. The odds of winning a prize will depend on the number of participants. All prizes will be raffled off on 3/21/18. Participants names will be entered into a spreadsheet in the order in which they’re received. Using the randomize function in MS Excel, contest administrators will sort the final list of entries by random numerical value, and award gifts in order of value (lowest to highest) starting with the 18th name on the list first, and then moving to the 36th, 54th, 72nd, and so on each name 18 cells further down the list until all prizes have been awarded. By 3/22/18 the list of winners will be posted on the Bay Seasoning Podcast “Hunger Awareness Campaign” landing page, and published on the Bay Seasoning Podcast Facebook page. All transportation costs to any venues for gift redemption will be at the expense of the winner (ie:the winner of the Covenant Winery tour will have to cover their own travel costs to and from the winery to redeem the tour and tasting).
